walkie talkie...or something like it

okay, so he's not walking or talking, still, but he is crawling. climbing, standing with help and jabbering non stop. when he's standing sometimes, he lets go, but as soon as he realizes he's not holding on, he drops on his bottom. sometimes with an emphatic "umph!" and he's been doing this funny thing where he stands on his hands and feet. usually, he puts his head up and down, too. like he's saying, "boo!" too cute.

geez, it's been too long

really, i was so good at this with aj...of course, i didn't have a household to care for or a five year old ...but...anyway.

surgery was fine. just went to the audiologist today and they said there was marked improvement. his eardrums are, one again, vibrating and he could hear better. cutest test in the world, i tell you. one dr amuses luke with antics while the other runs the equip...but they both ham it up and make gaga over luke buddy. not that you can help it, with daddy's big inquisitive eyes and handsome curls and mama's gap-toothed grin, what's not to love! last time we went there, we got a teddy bear, which i thought would just amuse luke for a minute and he'd move on...well, my my...this child hugged that think for the 30 min ride home and talked away to it. even still, i put holden (teddy's name is holden hugyou) in the bed to help luke fall asleep and he grins at him and blurts his luketongue...maybe holden understands him, all the while squeezing the teddy, that rivals luke in size mind you. let me see...he's probably about 30"...happy to say he's still growing into daddy's little elf body, long and lean. woohoo...aj's stuck with my dwarfish shell. he's still small. about 20, 22 #s maybe. but size doesn't matter. he's pulling himself up and exploring every nook and cranny of our house. (i even caught him up the first step to our rooms, getting a toy!) he's brave and curious....a great but terrible match. makes for lots of kudos for discovering new talents (completely cleaning out the lower level of the dvd collection) and lots of sighs by mommy and daddy, picking up afterwards...i learned to clean it after he's in bed...he doesn't want to play with them once their out...just wants to make the mess...), daddy learned to but a dumbell in front of the door. and the gate...man, that gate. he used to love to open and close the gate like an ocd sufferer, even marking himself up with a forehead full of edge-of-gate shaped bruises. but then he looked down the way...discovered that there was a world beyond the open and shut thing... now, we shut it. but if he beats us to the gate and opens it to look down, he looks back at us to see if he's still going to get that dependable "no." ...and he does, and grins that wonderful grin. sometimes he's just testing us and scoots on to his next adventure, but sometimes, he tries to head out. he doesn't know about superfast mommy skills if baby is in danger.

enjoy some pics.

or sked

once again, we'll be heading back to the or. this time, not so serious. he will be getting tubes in his little ears and an adenoidectomy. while he's under, they plan on a bronch to look at something "abnormal" on the xray, but it won't be anything. just a little sore throat for a coupl'a days. makes me sad, but as the theme seems to go...c'est la vie. one more thing to get over while he will have no idea. more will come. and i really will put up bday photos.

mama is slow...

let's see. because of mama's slowgoingness (totally invented that, i'm sure), it's been a hot minute. luke buddy has since turned a whole year old. yes, for those of us who have been thru it with us, it's true...it's a whole year in super speed! surprisingly, we haven't been to any...oops, take it back. was gonna say no docs, but we saw an ent because luke was having super huge ear infections after several rounds of antibiotics. so, dr. k wanted us to see a specialist. we'll go back wed to see if doc wants to put tubes in his ears. this child is a tough guy. you think...teething (he has 3 all the way thru and one pushing everyday) and continuous ear infections, not to mention the little butt rash from abx killing off the good flora, too...anyway, you'd think he would be a whiny baby. no way! it's all smiles and jabbers. sweetest little monkey you'd ever want to know! and he's got gorgeous locks. blond as can be with curls around the sides...and at the scar top right where the reservoir was shortlived. my point in mentioning no docs was to say that i have no idea how much he ways. i did measure him, he was about 28", while wiggling, mind you. he's long and lean like daddy. and just like daddy, he's a lover. pepe le pew and pepe le deux. i have both. :) and he and big brother are best buds. they absolutely thrive off each other. it's beautiful! luke is scooting and sitting and in no time, he's gonna start trying to pull up...he just has to figure out that there's another dimension he can get to. he's so curious and busy. my fears of his stunted personality and eagerness to learn has been put on a back, far back burner. he's amazing. and all day he tells us who he likes second best..."dadadadada" although i think i'm the one confused. it's amazing to watch him light up when gregg comes into his view. he loves him so much...of course, dad eats it up! since we moved, luke (when daddy's not the one watching him) sleeps in his own bed. we usually read some books with brother and then tuck aj in and then i cuddle luke buddy in my bed and sing or just pretend to sleep and he nods off. then off to his bed. he sleeps like a nut. he's allllll over his bed. props his foot up on the padding...it's adorable, but he soothes himself if he wakes and i keep telling gregg he's gonna pull himself up in there if you let him figure it out.
anyway, gotta go spoil myself with the lovely men, small medium and large in my life. i'll try to upload the bday party photos and add them, but i don't make promises. ;)

another daddy nap...and my fave. luke standing with morgie's help. but he's so happy to let go!!!

more pics

just wanted to add luke solves that whole pincer grasp issue (not that he has one; his pincer is intact. ) with his the oral fixation! ;) more next

first easter

kinda lost on the little guy. i brought luke and aj down to see what the easter bunny left for them and luke was far more interested in the morning bottle. although, once brother showed interest in his basket, luke's curiousity was perked. aj was astounded that the easter bunny had the same little baby snacks that we had...love that innocence! luke loved his little red race car...of course, he just chewed on it.

he has two, count them TWO full on, grown in bottom teeth. makes for an adorable grin...and as soon as i catch it, i'll share. he's shy with the toofers, but only with the camera. and now he has one on the side of the top growing in. and he's a trooper. no boohooing or fussing. just stick it to ya tough guy. maybe some snot nosedness, but that's an easy fix.

will add some pics...
