geez, it's been too long

really, i was so good at this with aj...of course, i didn't have a household to care for or a five year old ...but...anyway.

surgery was fine. just went to the audiologist today and they said there was marked improvement. his eardrums are, one again, vibrating and he could hear better. cutest test in the world, i tell you. one dr amuses luke with antics while the other runs the equip...but they both ham it up and make gaga over luke buddy. not that you can help it, with daddy's big inquisitive eyes and handsome curls and mama's gap-toothed grin, what's not to love! last time we went there, we got a teddy bear, which i thought would just amuse luke for a minute and he'd move on...well, my my...this child hugged that think for the 30 min ride home and talked away to it. even still, i put holden (teddy's name is holden hugyou) in the bed to help luke fall asleep and he grins at him and blurts his luketongue...maybe holden understands him, all the while squeezing the teddy, that rivals luke in size mind you. let me see...he's probably about 30"...happy to say he's still growing into daddy's little elf body, long and lean. woohoo...aj's stuck with my dwarfish shell. he's still small. about 20, 22 #s maybe. but size doesn't matter. he's pulling himself up and exploring every nook and cranny of our house. (i even caught him up the first step to our rooms, getting a toy!) he's brave and curious....a great but terrible match. makes for lots of kudos for discovering new talents (completely cleaning out the lower level of the dvd collection) and lots of sighs by mommy and daddy, picking up afterwards...i learned to clean it after he's in bed...he doesn't want to play with them once their out...just wants to make the mess...), daddy learned to but a dumbell in front of the door. and the gate...man, that gate. he used to love to open and close the gate like an ocd sufferer, even marking himself up with a forehead full of edge-of-gate shaped bruises. but then he looked down the way...discovered that there was a world beyond the open and shut thing... now, we shut it. but if he beats us to the gate and opens it to look down, he looks back at us to see if he's still going to get that dependable "no." ...and he does, and grins that wonderful grin. sometimes he's just testing us and scoots on to his next adventure, but sometimes, he tries to head out. he doesn't know about superfast mommy skills if baby is in danger.

enjoy some pics.
